Another new guy.
He'd lived up here for over 40 years but was originally from New Jersey.
His friend from Jersey and wife had never been out west so me my bud his bud and our wives all headed out on 3 Electra Glides,Bob from Jersey rented a bike for the trip.
We Bob's O'lady was a little problematic being used to shorter rides and stopping at bars so this long distance stuff was alien to both her and Bob.
The first day we rode down the Oregon coast and stopped at a motel in Crescent City,Bob's wife Donna freaked out when she found out the motel didn't have AC.
I had to calm her down and explain it's cool there at night so it's not necessary.
My other buddy Herb and wife had never been on a long trip but were at least familiar with the west coast.
They wanted to stop in Vegas so after a walk through the redwoods in Jed Smith park we turned inland at Arcata and rode to Redding.
Well Donna didn't listen when I said put on plenty of sunblock and drink plenty of water as it's going to be hot inland.
We made it to Weaverville and Donna was about to pass out with heat stroke, temps when we were on the coast typical upper 60's but I'm sure you know how fast it heats up when you get inland.
We had to stop and get into a place with AC and cold drinks to revive her. lol
The plan was to make it to Tahoe that night but we ended up getting a room in Redding.
I think she learned her lesson that day,we took it easy the next day and rode to Lassen peak then S. Lake Tahoe and got a room.
We rode to Vegas the next day and that was a real eye opener for the folks from Jersey riding those wide open spaces on 95.
