Hi Dan, I'm 68 and I live in the Pacific NW on the wet side (Yacolt, WA) but used to live on the dry side in Bend, Oregon.
Where abouts do you hang your hat on the dry side?
Wenatchee for most of my life. Been riding since I was 12 in the dirt, 16 on the road. Medical issues limit my rides to less than 100 miles in nice weather now, but I hope to be on 2 wheels for a few more years. Thanks to everyone for the welcomes.
I'm a truck driver and oh almost 10 years ago now I was hauling out of Wenatchee quite often.
We were hauling spent (broken) carbon insulators from the Alcoa plant to Woodburn Oregon for recycling where they would crush them and extract the carbon and send it to the steel mill in McMinnville.
The stuff looked like black boulders, and I was running a Pete 379 pulling a 26' rock tub end dump for an old outlaw trucker a friend hooked me up with.
Sometimes we'd roll over 750 miles a day, man he pushed us hard. lol
That Pete had a 600 hp CAT motor and an 18 speed trans with no governor so I could roll as fast as I dared, had that truck up to 100 mph a few times and it had more but I didn't.
