PS As of Nov. 2007 I bought a 2008 105th edition 1200 XL Low.Yeah, I know, hype factor but I like the colors anyway.Bright candy orange would've cooler than the burnt orange.
Got triple headlamps, oil cooler, hiway bar, the largestcapacity bags HD had, windshield, sundowner seat, med sissy bar w/LED insert brake lights, turn signal into brake lights kit & HD air horn. Would like to install LoJackwhen I get some extra dough.
If there are any heat issues come summer I plan on a Stage I kit.
First impressions: mirrorsshake above 60 mph tho' not as bad as my '94 XL. 1st gear too tall...need grannygear forbeing stuck in stalled traffic and for creepingup bike ramps. Gears too close together...need to spread outgears.I feel like I could skip every other gear. Yeah, I know, EPAdoesn't want folkswinding up their RPM.
As for '94 me thinking of painting all or most of the chrome (chrome ruined - needs replating.) What colors would go good withthe rest of the bike? Bike isblue retro look - has Softail Heritage Classic decals on tank. Any ideas forscheme if I paintchrome engine parts -flamesor something? Anybody know reputable paint shop that might do real good job on that?
Yes, I am going to stick AMA stickers on it...if we don't support those fighting the bike banners who will?
