I am glad that I found you guys. I have been looking for someone that shares my intrests. I am retired Army living in OK for now. I currently riding an old Yamaha special but in less than a month I am getting rid of the rice burner. It has served it's purpose. Now my old lady is hooked on riding and sugested that I buy a new Harley. So after uncle sam coughs up what he owes me it's off to the dealer to buy a new 1200c I am getting really anxious. I was wondering if any of you are HOG members and if you thought it was worth the dough? I also am looking for other riders in my area ( Lawton, OK) Thanks man, JD
As far as HOG goes, I have been a member for 10 or 11 years, and it is worth it to me. Have met a lot of good people, the towing clause is worth it if you ever need it. I like the Magazine, pins, patches, map etc. Also, if you buy a new bike, you will get a years membership for free. That will give you a chance to decide if it's worth it to you.
They have the colors I want here in lawton but I think that the mark up is a bit high so I might venture to red river in TX or OKC if the money is right. Were you Air force?
I've been a member of Hog since 99, have met alot of good people in the local chapter and likewise on the tours that Ive gone on. Of the dealers Ive been to in your area I like the one in Stillwater. Never bought a bike from em, but when passing thru theve been real freindly.
Have you ridden a 1200C? Might suggest you try the 1200R...FUNtastic motorcyle with better brakes among other things. While mine is regretfully being traded for a new Road King next week along with my ST1300, this Sporty has been for me my #1 favorite bike of all 70 I've owned over the years. As I purchased a new, leftover Suzook SV1000N last November I was finally willing to let go of the Sporty for the BT.
Either way the new Sportsters offer gr8 value and are easy on the eyes plus lotsa fun to ride...enjoy! DFO
