Welcome from Atl. Ga..........I know the MSF class has been mentioned, but also see if your local Harley-Davidson dealer has a riders edge class. The bikes in this class are usually Buell Blast which is a small bike and low weight. I know money is tight when in school so if renting is out of the question some dealers do let you test drive demo models.

Cash may be tight but scrape up the rental fee it is cheaper than buying the wrong bike. Find what fits and be prepared in a year or so to be back here asking, I want to move up what would be a good choicegetting out of sporty want a big twin

Get in a Rider's Edge or other MSF course! I enjoyed every minute of it. I was thinking Sportster due to the size, but test rode a Dyna Low Rider and the rest is history. It is important to be comfortable and confident, so take your time.
