Hello Everyone,
I am a Senior Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering student at Florida State University. I do not own a Harley-Davidson but I plan to one day..... The main reason I joined this forum is because I am currently working on my senior design project and needed a few suggestions from professional and veteran motorcyclists..... My project deals with making everyone's motorcycle experience more enjoyable by making a potentially major engineering innovation to the ride..... My project deals with the jacket you wear while riding the bike.... My colleages and I have devised a way of giving the rider the ablity to keep their body at a constant temperature while riding.... Try to imagine central heating and air conditioning for your jacket..... I know it sounds impossible but we have found a way to do it..... The system we have devised will give the rider the ablity to heat themselves when riding a bike in the cold, and to cool themselves when riding a bike in the heat, without adding a bunch of extra parts to the bike, and without comprimising the safety of the rider .... , But what I need from you is this; I need you to answer the following question in order to make this innovation possible... What aspects of a motorcycle jacket do you look for and expect when you purchase a motorcycle jacket?.....( EX. Looks, Comfortable, Feel, Flexibility, etc.....)
We plan on completing this design and offering it to the public, VERY SOON!!!!
I thank everyone for your time,
Industrial Engineer
Its already been done. Spacesuits have that capability dont they? How cool would it be to ride around in one of those, only not after a serving of bean dip and beer.

I was serious, thick leather. I remember being cold and putting newspapers under the jacket, and it worked great to keep the wind and rain out. Hot, open the bloody jacket.
Seriously I can almost guarantee you the price tag for that handy dandy HVAC leather jacket will be way more overpriced than a Harley jacket. I think I'll stick to my standard leathers and thermals as needed.
