Hi again,

I bought mine from New Car Sales in Japan. I don't plan on heading to the US any time soon so the Warentty to my was a waste of time (Japanese don't honor it) It saved me about $900 plus the alarm is standard. Try NFCU for a loan I know they have a Office there in Bahrain (been there before) They will hook you up. Also there are several dealers that will give you a great deal being in the Military for your After Market items. The money you save on buying the bike will add some nice chrome for you. Hope it all works out for you.

Semper Fi

Geno

They only allowed me to order the things that were optional equipment. They wouldn't let me special order other stuff out of the catalog, etc. The V&H, stage 1, etc I'm paying for out of pocket or I could have just asked for more money from Pentagon and financed it that way. I don't think you can order what you're trying to order.....only optional equipment. Everything else I handled through the dealership....

You're right geno------I called back and told them a bike was enroute to them from the N.Y. office that I ordered from Iraq and they were very pleasant. I offered up my credit card number to pay for my parts because I wanted them installed before delivery and the guy said, "don't worry about it, my brother is a green beret and he would kill me if I didn't take care of all of you guys." He even discounted the parts as if I bought the bike from his dealership

Well, if not, I'll just talk to my dealership, but it's good information to know. My sales rep basically told me that I'm stuck with what they have, not being able to order anything extra or anything. I email the ladies that you suggested, so hopefully they get back to me and are more helpful.

Oh, and I more than likely will be going through NFCU, it's pretty easy since they have their own office out here.

Been a couple of days since I looked at your thread, looks like you're getting some grand advice. Mili has been handling my order, and although it sometimes takes a bit, she always gets back to me. With the 95" kit, and some other mods, those count as dealer options they'll be installed by the dealer once the bike makes it to them, whichever way you go. In addition, as has been said, many of the dealers are good to the guys in uniform, so if you order through AAFES, and notify your receiving dealer of the mods you want to do, they'll get it done before you get home. Hit the ground and the new bike with the 95 incher, new wheels, exhaust, whatever, is there ready to pick up. If you wait 'til you get home, you may have to order the bike, then you gotta wait on the upgrades...it could be frustrating.

I'm not sure why the rep there is telling you they're gonna be close to MSRP (maybe I do, you may be close to MSRP, you'll still save off what the dealer is going to quote you). My dealer back home, where I bought my first bike, sent me a bottomdollar quote. He told me the AAFES deal was going to beat anything they could put together, and he was right, I saved $1500. There's the 95" upgrade paid for.

Anyroad, if you're having any issues, please feel free to PM me, and I'll walk across the street here and talk to the onsight rep, see if they can give Mili and co. a call and help you out.

Good luck!
