Default new guy - southeast georgia

Hi all - I've been riding bikes since 1970. I got my first harley in 1989 and I been in the wind since.

My bike is a 1989 Softail custom and like everyone else I've made a few modifications - the latest was a set of 14" ape hangers.

I resently inherited my brothers stuff and I was looking for a place to list it and I stumbled onto this fourm - so I thought I'd jump in.

I now have a 1997 sporster and a wreked 2000 Road King (yep he was on it when he took his last ride).

My delima is what to do with the Road King.....buy a frame and try to fix it or sell as parts....I'm leaning towards selling it as parts.

Can't tell how much damage you have from here, but unless you would really like to have a Road King, it may be best to part it out. Extensive damage can lead to other items out of whack. First figure what you would need to put into it to get it on the road versus what it would be worth when repaired. Was there an insurance payout? Will the bike now have a salvage title? It's more difficult to sell a bike that has suffered a wreck. Plus, with the history of the bike, you may not want to keep it.
