Default Intro

Hi group Glad I found this site, while surfing for info on R Glide. I have a couple of bikes starting with a pretty nice 06 police R King. This bike is the first bagger I've ridden or owned. I scored it after last years B Week, when I started to get that feeling. It had 2400 miles, was a lease program trade, and cost me $12400. This week it crossed the 16000 mi reading. I've found that I use the bike a lot, even for around town.
Before that I bought restored and still own a Ducati 916. Ah, the Italian craftsman... like their food, their wine, their women!
Before that I bought a new N Rod, and managed to drop 20000 mi on it the first year. What a bike, especially with the Trask Turbo delivering just under 160 RHP. I still have that bike too.
Like one member of the forum wrote, the other day I was in getting parts: a replacement module for the R King cruise control. I swear they have a plan to keep you in the shop... and I don't exactly know why, but I started to get that feeling again. Itwas for an 2008 R Glide Aniv. It's used with just over 1000 mi on it! Apparently the guy buys new and trades several times a year among his stable of bikes. Wow.
At first, I said naw to the color. But my girl Iris, shereally likes the Sporty in the Aniv. colors... and I swear it started to grow on me.
Then I came home and began to surf on the R Glides. I have a friend that had an 05 or an 06, so I knew a little about the wind. The redistribution of the front end weight makes a lot of sense, and with the cruise, the pretty awesome sound system, and the combo of the Brembo's / the 6 gal tank / 95 inch motor / and 6 speed overdrive trans. I began to think 'well why not'. I will ride a bike almost any time I can, which is pretty often in FL. My real riding though is getting gone, and I'm betting this bike will.
So I took a couple of sucker punches and gave a couple and put it all together with the race tuner, exhaust (Rush), and the SE breather. I'm having heav duty fork oil put in, and my Avon's switched from the RK. Next oil change I'll go full Amsoil. I'll pick her up on Saturday, complete with her flaming copper paint. Makes me feel like high school all over again, getting a date with the prettiest girl... I bet you can guess what color hair she had.
