travel tips for tecate to cabo san lucas
Hi. I'm a new member from Canada and as looking for any tips on what to be aware of and cautious of on a trip from Tecate Mexico to Cabo San Lucas. There will be four bikes leaving Tecate on or about April 10 and we have about 7 or 8 days to make the return trip. I've been wondering if it would be better to take Rte 3 south to where it intersects with Rte 1 just north of Ensenada or follow Rte 2 west form Tecate toward Tijuana and then south from there. Any info or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Just be carefull! There has been ongoing trouble in Baja due to the fighting between the Government and the drug cartels. The FBI now has a travel advisary for Americans there since December, when they reported that they have had 18 documented kidnappings for ransom, robberies and extorsion. My nephew was kidnapped and killed in Tecate so I speak from experience.
