Hello everyone,I was just looking for some imfo and stumbled on to this site.
I have a 2004 Low-Rider that is stock. I want to drain the gas tank as I feel my bike has been tampered with(sugar). How do you test for it? Would the tank need to be removed? Hows that done?
Howdy and welcome from The Republic! About the only way that you test for it is to drain some of the gas out and check for sugar granules; it takes a while for them to dissolve, sometimes up to two weeks. Assuming that you do find sugar, you'll need to completely drain and flush the tank which will require removing it. If you've run the bike and have sugar, it's going to potentially foul your carburator. If that's the case, there's a good chance that you'll need to replace it because of the way sugar gums everything up. I'm not saying that you'll absolutely have to, but it's rare that car carbs don't have to be replaced if they're gummed up with sugar. Good luck!
