I'm 5'8" (but lighter at 126lbs) as well and find the sportster very comfortable although I personally find the forward controls on the C model more comfortable.
I ablsolutely love mine.
Is a Sporty the bike for you? That largely depends on the type of riding you intend doing mainly. If you're intending regularly doing long distance touring and or riding 2 up regularly then its probably not the best choice for you in terms of comfort. You can do all of those things, but its almost certainly not the best.
I would definately recommend you have a test ride before commiting yourself and possibly try out another model that might have caught your eye.
I went back to dealer and decided to purchase the XL1200R. It was in by $ range, looksgreat and i really like the mid-controls because its what im used to. Didnt get to do a test ride but everything feels right otherwise. Thanks again for the info and welcomes. Regards,Lou
