Thanks to all!

HDMan - If you're considering a RG, I strongly recommend that you rent one & go ride some of your favorite curvy roads. It's really amazing how much different they ride. It has to do with the fact that all the downforce is applied directly to the chassis / suspension - not the steering bulkhead. They corner similar to a sportbike in that the steering is so smooth & responsive. Additionally, wind blowing perpendicular to your direction of travel does not influence the fork / steering assembly at all. It's an aero thing - like NASCAR....

My current ride is pretty much stock, with a few really basic performance mods and more emphasis on comfort. It has:
S/E Hi-flow
ThunderHeader
PCIII-usb
Oil Cooler & Oil temp gauge
WideGlide bars
Mustang Seat
Custom passenger backrest for the wife (taller w/15 degress more angle than stock)
EZ- Clutch
E-Z Brake & SHifter
J&M Speakers

My 1st RG.... now that's another story!

In reality, some of the mods left me in enough situations that I was inclined to start over and not do as much work to the motor! It was a ROCKET, but it was "hungry for starter clutches". It would eat at least one a year, ususally more. Even though I do all my own work, if you're 2000+ miles from home and start having problems (happend several times - murphy's law, I guess) you're stuck. The ride home after the last incident left me with enough time to think (and stew) about it... The day after we got home, I had this bike.

Regardless of all that, I absolutely LOVE the RoadGlide and would recommend it over & over.
