Valve train noise
Hi all, I just joined this site to get information and if I have information give it back. I have a 1993 Harley Davidson Custom Softail, I just rebuilt the engine, I put Wiseco 10.5:1 pistons, in it bored .010" over stock, I put an EV 27 Camshaft in it, I put a set of JIMs big axle tappets and a JIMs steel breather gear in. I also put a set of Chrom tappet blocks in and I \\; put a brand new set of V&\\;H long shots. It sounds really nice accept for the valve train noise. I also have Crane adjustable pushrods, \\;I have them adjusted the way the instructions indicate, both form Crane and JIMS. In the instructions \\;Jims gives it says if \\;the liffter makes noise or there is tiking then to isolate the problem lifter to adjust the pushrod normally and wait till it bleeds down and then turn the adjuster again \\;until the pushrod can just barely be turned by hand and then lock the lock nut and then start the bike to see if the noise goes away. I did this and the noise seems les but it didn't go away. Anyone out there have a similar problem and have a fix or if someone knows if I can just keep adjusting the pushrods until the noise goes away without doing any damage to the \\;engine please let me know. Thanks. \\;
