Howdy from Ten-O-C! Low price,low CC and low seat. Try an 883 Hugger.
What ever you get,enjoy and be safe!

ORIGINAL: babywantsaharley

hey all. so I'm looking to get my first Harley and need to know what type would be the best for me! Im 5'4", pretty strong but am looking for a cruiser with some type of low slung seat, you know, so I can reach the ground

Any suggestions, recommendations, advice or any friendly information you wanna pass on, I'd be mighty grateful! Thanks baby!!!
The 883 Hugger &amp\\; Dyna Low Rider are probably the best bet for your situation. As many others have suggested, go sit on a few at a dealership. Most dealers also have a used bike department so be sure to check there, too. If you do look at the used bikes, make sure the one you want to get is road ready...new/gently used tires, oil levels, frayed or worn electrical, etc. Take test rides if you can. As someone else mentioned, a rider course would be a great start.

Welcome to the forum!
&nbsp\\;
I have to agree with Photo.&nbsp\\; That's the route I'm currently taking.&nbsp\\; I am not ashamed to say my first ride will be a Rebel.&nbsp\\; Even though I know all my friends will give me some flak about not riding a Harley for awhile, I would rather crash a Honda than a Harley.
&nbsp\\;
That being said, I'm 5'2" and I'm really comfortable sitting on Dave's 04 SE&nbsp\\;Deuce.&nbsp\\; I can stand flat footed and I don't have to stretch out to reach the controls.&nbsp\\; However, I have some experience with that bike seeing as how I'm the only one who washes it!&nbsp\\; My aunt who is the same height as me, was more comfortable on the 883 Sporty, so that is what she got for her first Harley.&nbsp\\;

Welcome,
If you have no riding experience may I sugest that you take a motor cycle riders course,
I taught my wife to ride but she took a two day hands on course and it was there that she realy learned the proper riding skills to keep her safe on the road.
As to a bike, to start on try to find something with a low center of gravity. My wife started on an 04 sporty custom but found that my Fat Boy was an easier bike to ride even though it was larger both physically&nbsp\\; and in motor size.
Good luck and be safe
