Default New Guy

Hi all
&nbsp\\;I am thinking of returning to riding. I had a 1974 DOHC Honda back in 1990 or so. I did EVERY thing wrong - bought used having only ridden a Yamaha 50cc moped thing a few times, no license, no insurance, bad brakes, bald tyres, at least it came with a sprkely red helmet that was open face and two sizes too large. Lucky I was wearing that old nut cover when I left a gravel driveway and hooked the front tyre and fell to the right - twisted the throttle - and landed very hard.
So now I am somewhat smarter and want to things correctly. I like the Dyna style - looks like a more confortable position and a light enough starter bike. Suggestions? I will be looking at a 38 mile one way commute mostly interstate and a bit of stop and go non sense - oh and a bridge that gets blustery. I have no delusions about commuting in rain - maybe no commuting for a while. Also I don't need the biggest baddest thing on two wheels

I don't mean to offend but with your past experiece I think yellowglide is right. Start at the beginning and learn the right way and you'll probably have better results. Good luck and welcome from Mass.

Welcome from Seattle!

I agree with yellowgilde and higg47. I did the Motorcycle Safety Course and then spent a year on a well used Yamaha before buying my Dyna. The confidence and skill I obtained was well worth the wait.
