Decide whats important to you, Be straight up with the sales people, Tell them what you are after, check the web, and have more than one option open right up until you sign on the line, Bikes are a impulse buy, if you are noncomittal "this bike is nice but freedom HD has it in dayglo orange with the after burners" Or ask to not pay for options you dont want, Kinda a buyers market right now, I got some flex on new bikes also.. just not as much.
Lastly I dont take my checkbook when Im first looking, it removes the temptation to lay down $$$ when you see what you want, keep looking, narrow it down to 2 choices and tell them to give you the best price "out the door", Dont tell them what the other dealership has offered. While I reallly wanted to give my business to my local dealer, he simply couldnt match the deal from the other dealership.
Hope this helps...
Colorado is a great place to ride once you get past the snow season even then we have our good winter days, I took mine out for a shakedown (denver to ft morgan to nebraska to cheyenne and back to denver) friday temps never dropped below high thirties.
Thanks for the tips. I almost feel like I'm gonna have to take some time off work to get this done. I've been doing research online, requested some quotes and stuff (or course your not getting much with online quotes). I work 6 days a week and my day off is Sunday ( the day 90% of dealers are closed!). I've caught the bug pretty bad so I'm gonna have to really fight the temptation to get the first bike that I come across. I'm usually pretty good about being patient and getting what I want. It's in the process of snowing right now so at least I don't have the uncontrollable urge to go riding! That should help with impulse purchasing!

Welcome from Colo Sprgs.
I wouldn't buy from either of the dealers in Colorado Springs. IMO
