I dont own a harley yet but ive been thinkin seriously about getting one. Ive owned sever sportbikes and thinking about getting something a little more pratical. Hope to gain much info from this forum and share any info i can with others.

Best thing YOU, or anyone can do, is visit dealerships, and sit on every bike they have.... with an open mind..... You say you've been riding , then you might have an idea about what suits you.
I know I'll get flamed for this.....but here goes any way...
Don't fail to check out the various metric bikes out there... if you're looking for low-cost two wheeled transportation, they make some very good, and reasonably priced alternatives.
but once you get above 250cc.... you rarely "save money by riding a bike" unless it's your ONLY transportation, and even then.... if you add everything up... i doubt it's cheaper
