Howdy & welcome! I checked the AMA website which lists state laws. It does not mention a license plate light. However, I would think that you should be able to call the local BMV and they could probably tell you. Enjoy the forum.

I know Texas is picky about the plate light and I got a friendly warning due to the lens above the bulb was dirty and not illumating the tag bright enough (dirt, hell it was paint!!)
(I can't say my Texas Howdy as someone already did... a little slow off the mark today....)
