Hi Everyone, I am new to this site but I have been creeping on it for about 2 months. Allot of you have great threads. I have been eyeballing the nightster for about 2 years now since it came out and last year all the motorcycle courses were booked up so I had to wait till this year to take a class. Anyway I tend to do everything backwards so I bought the nightster about a week ago (thank you ****ty economy) they gave me close to what I wanted it for and today they drop it off at my doorstep for me. Even though I dont have my license till aprill 5th I still wanted to get in on that ride for free deal just incase I want to trade up in a yr.
Before a month or so ago I never really driven a motorcycle. I mountain bike pretty hardcore so I'm good with ballance and everything though. For the past month I have been riding my friends cruiser its a honda 1100. its old so he said he wouldnt mind when I drop it. The power is fine for me.
I'm a big kid 6'3'' 205 lbs. But I love the nighster so I figured I'll buy what I want and if I don't end up loving it as much as I do so far then trade up for the crossbones.
So anyway (I tend to ramble allot) They drop off my Nightster in 3 hrs and I cant wait to ride it. Hopefully it will get to around 50 degrees this weekend.
I Just wanted to say hi and if I choose to keep the nightster I am going to be customizing it so I will be a active forum guy posting pics and what not. But I just wanted to say thanks for all the people posting there veiws about the nightster. It helped me in my decision.
I really like the look of this bike but I have a bit of a possible problem, I'm 6'1" and 235lbs. Am I going to just drag this bike all over the place? I love the stance but it is suspiciously low....
I think you'll be fine. I read allot of forums of people who have pasengers on them as well. The main thing I hear from people though is that we will want to adjust our shocks. I figure I will ride it stock for a month then adjust them how I see fit. I know I will be getting a Passenger seat cuz my girlfriends already complaining that it's a single. lol
