Hello from the Evergreen State - where we are waiting for the roads to thaw out from a snow storm last weekend. The weather is making it difficult for me to get to know my '09 Red Hot Sunglo SG (FLHX). I bought it 3 weeks ago from Eastside Harley Davidson and have only been able to put 500 miles on it between storms. Come on Summer. (I want to throw in a word or two about Eastside Harley Davidson - They made the buying process comfortable and easy. They have a first class operation from the receptionist to sales/business operations, to motorclothes, to parts, to the service department. And everyone in the store has been nothing but helpful and friendly, before AND after the sale. They are also involved with and sponsor a Rider's Edge class that helped me refresh my riding skills and obtain my rider endorsement. I HAVE NOTHING BUT GOOD THINGS TO SAY ABOUT EHD. - a shout out to everyone there.)
Now, for those that complain about vibration or handling the 'twisties' on a Harley - get a new bike. The '09 SG handles and rides better than I imagined. It is responsive with plenty of torque and I don't think I could be more pleased. Yeah, it vibrates a little at a stop, but nothing that will loosen any fillings - and it wouldn't be a Harley if it didn't - right? I haven't done much to it yet (I have added Passing Lamps, Highway Pegs, and a couple pieces of 'Live to Ride' bling) but I do plan on adding a detachable tour pak, touring seat and passenger footboards before taking any extended rides. Other than that I don't feel the tug to add new pipes or a Stage 1 kit, etc... but then again, ask me again in a year or two.
I look forward throwing in my 2 cents every so often here on the forum. Until we talk again - Ride Safe everyone.
Warren, welcome from central Washington. You've arrived at the best forum around. More to learn and read here than anywhere else, plus great people. Glad to have you. Geezer
