looking hard at 09 ultra classic. price shopping between three dealers. None seem too interested in out doing each other.
Anyway, will probably get the bike anyway. Wife likes it, important, it rides nice. Never had a harley before, many hondas and rocket 3.
Is my price experience normal?
thanks
Howdy and welcome from The Republic! I'd say that your experiences are normal relative to where you live. I think that it's fair to say where most will differ in what they charge for the extra fees, i.e. destination charges, etc. Also, some dealers give better bennies such as t-shirts and other goodies. Good luck!
I had the same problem when I was looking to purchase my scooter. The local dealer had an $SS clown working for them that handled financing and she was so rude, did not have the time of day for me. I explained to them that their price was way outside the norm and that I could get a better deal in the lower 48, this chick laughed then said take it or leave it. I then went to the owner, explained that I did not appreciate her attitude. He said that I was not the only one that has had problems with her but she is the finance manager! Come to find out she was related to him!! My wife and I contacted Grand Junction HD and was told that they had the bike on their floor and if I wanted they would beat their price. My wife and I purchased two tickets to Denver, damn near burned up an Impala racing on the highway to Grand Junction. We arrived 12 minutes after their posted hours of operation, so there we stood like two kids looking through their window at the bike that had our name on it...After a few foot stomps and some choice words my wife said we can wait until tomorrow!! The next thing I know the light came back on and this guy opens the door laughing. Come to find out my wife had pulled a fast one, called the guy from the airport letting him know that we were running behind due to a layover in Seattle. Inside there were numerous staff members but they had stayed over to assist me. I WAS ONE HAPPY DUDE! They sold me the bike for $4,812 less than in Alaska. My wife and I rode the bike back to Alaska, pulled up to the dealership and had it detailed. The owner Fired his relative and I have not seen her since! I still do business with them but will always be loyal to Grand Junction HD. They are a great group of folks. Do some shopping around and don't feel obligated to TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT....
