I haven't seen or read anything bout a 4th gear whine on the 5speeds, 5th in the 6speeds is a whole different story.

Hmmm did you check the tranny lube level? If it seems to ride fine otherwise...I'd consider throwing some mobil1 75w90 in it. Welcome aboard by the way (From North Edwards, CA). We have a socal meet & greet coming up soon. PM me & lets go for a scoot.
