Default FLSTC vs FLHX

I've been a softail rider forever, but was thinking up switching to a Street Glide for longer rides. Does anyone have any experience regarding the difference between an FLSTC and a FLHX in terms of comfort for two-up riding. I currently own a 2003 FLSTCI and was considering a 2010 FLHX. I test rode one at the dealer, and I actually think my softail is smoother, but perhaps I'm biased.

Welcome. I made a similar switch. Went from the FLSTF to the FLHX for same reasons. Don't regret it at all. But in hindsight, I should have just gone with the classic by the time I added all the stuff I wanted. Would have probably been cheaper? Oh well, I"m enjoying it.
Good luck on your decision.

Thanks Heath...Did you find the Street Glide that much smoother?

Honestly, I don't know that I noticed that much difference. What I do notice is with 2 people, I have to fill the shocks to 40+ and that makes it a little stiff.

Welcome from Indy. Getting the right air pressure in the rear shock make the difference in the better ride on my RK.

Default Air Pressure in shocks

If you rode the street glide and it didn't have the right pressure in the shocks, that will give you a bad ride. Check the pressure in the shocks.. a year ago a friend rented an ultra that was bottoming out...we stopped checked air...made a huge difference. I have an 2010 SG and have gone from 30-38 lbs in the shocks....
