I am totally new to this, so please excuse the silly questions.
I have not ridden for years but would like to get back into it, (kids are now grown and ALMMOST gone). Last bike was a 1000cc sportster a 72. I was thinking about a softtail standard, but today I ran across a road king, police trade in. It is a 2004 flhrpi with either 2300 or 4100 miles on it. The seat has been changed to a custom two pioece seat. Other than that , it looks very good , really very good. I did not really want a bike that big for just running around on the weekend for a couple of hours, but I really like the way it looks-- although not the way it sounds-- too quiet. They are asking 14,300.00. I would need to add passenger foot pegs, (not a big deal-- I guess) and possibly some mufflers?????
Since I am really new to this, is this a good price? What if anything do you look for specifically on a road king or a police trade in? Are these generally good bikes?
Hello Molly1 , I think the price is right for that year and amount of miles. The passenger pegs or floorboards no problem see if the dealer will throw those in on the deal and ask about the pipes see what they can do with those too ! Sounds like your ready , have you checked out any of the rider coarses. You might want to check that out too . Since you haven`t been riding for awhile . And welcome to the HDF. Steve from Az.
