Hey,
I was stalking for a couple of days and really appreciate the content I've seen out here already. I'm looking to get my first HD. Been a while since I've owned a bike (15 yrs!, dirt bikes, jap street etc) I've ridden HD on occasion when my bro-in-law would throw the keys at me. I was born/raised in Milwaukee so this is my destiny!
I now live in Tucson and the dealer states they're a straight MSRP dealer. At first I wasn't sure if that was a good thing knowing availability isn't as bad as it was 7-10 years ago but based on some other posts I've seen it sounds as though I may be lucky in that regard?
As for the bike, it's either a Wide Glide or Heritage Softail. I'm leaning Wide but will do the windshield, bags etc when needed. Sitting on it just feels better and I don't see the tour thing happening too much. Usually day-trips, desert/mountain rides to get away. Moving out here lets the riding happen 360 days a year (rains sometimes...) which really got the bug in me again!
Welcome to the bb. I'd go Wide Glide myself. I think it sits better but that's just me. I'm a little biased since my next bike will be a WG. Glad to have ya on board.
Welcome G.O., You will enjoy the Dyna, but then the Heritage is quite a machine too.We have a Dyna and recently put the HD bags on it along with the fender rack and windshield. Maybe you need a picture or two with the bags? I would still like to be able to remove them now and then, so keep that in mind - detachable.
Arizona would be a fantastic ride. I'm familiar with the wide open area around Yuma (a ways from Tucson...), we spent some time there at the proving grounds. Everywhere seems a long ride.
