Welcome to the forum. Sorry I can't help with your starter problem but you are sure to get some response if you post that question in the touring section.
I think that if you posted your question in the bike section under Touring Models, you might get some help there,or try the Tech sections of this forum. Possibly you will get a few more ideas there about your problem. Good luck on getting it solved.
Hello and welcome from Columbia, MO\
Like they said, tech section or touring will help.
Not sure a bike starter is like a car but be careful. I had a car starter get stuck and start smoking real bad, i mean lots of smoke. I thought the car was going up for sure, the only thing i could think was to remove the cable to the battery but no tools on hand. While i was yanking on that the FD showed up, some one had called. The fireman got a hammer and wacked the starter hard and it disengaged.
Anyway, good luck.
