It's like love, you will know in your heart which one it is. Imagine taking one home. Would you be dreaming about "what if had gotten the other one"? There's your answer. BTW, love my Super Glide!
Neither would be the model for me. But thats irrelevant to your choice. Sit on both, if possible have a test ride on both and se which one you love the most.
Both great scoots, both of a little different world. Go with yer gut. Ride em both. I think ya tend to get a wee bit better ride with the sideboard shock setup, but the Classic is a bit bigger bike and is great for long hauls. Tough decision. But you'll know in your heart which you cannot do without.......and if not, buy em both!!
And welcome from the home of the worthless nut- a <Buckeye>....lol

For U, U'll have to decide how Ur going to ride and what Ur needs are...
Since U wanted opinionss, For me, I am liking the springers more and more... The softy will or should ride a little better than the dyna. Plus Its set up more for some road trips. ??, again I would like that, but its up to U and Ur riding style. U may never need that...
If U go with the springer, As far as the tensioners, just install a set of Gear cams and be rid of that worry,, lots of others have done that, plus U'll get a power boost also. Buying used should allow U to do some mod and still not have a chitpot of $$$in her and cams will make U smile a lot more anyway.
The glide should have at least another year of warranty on her. so that a plus and the 96/6speed it nice. but I had to do stg1 and cams to really make 6th usable. 6th was just sluggish for 2up, but the Heritage is a little heavier and I ain't small..
The 96's are very little if any faster than a 88 both tunes being =. Most 88's with a 95kit will walk away from most a stg1 96 easy.
Either one will make U a good bike,, so U are the one who has to be happy with Ur choice.
Don't let the money make Ur pick or next summer U could be wishing U choose something else... one of them has to be talking to U. When U look at them does Ur heart beat go up a little more on one or the other.!!! if so then there talking to Ya....
a little when U see her....
