Default New from Texas

I'm probably the newest here and already have a question... First a little background on me though. I have a black '94 FLSTC Heritage Classic that's pretty much stock; for now at least.

The last HD I had was to danged long ago back in "87 in San Diego, Ca. I rode it back anf forth all over the western half of the country to 'bout every state...California to Texas 6 times. It was a '65 CH model Sporty (yeah, kick only!) on a custom low and stretched hardtail frame with a radically long skinny springer front end. Dangerous for the curves without any front brakes, but who thinks about that on their first built Hawg? The magneto made it tempting a few times to run off with other P.O.S. prospective riders, aka bike thieves!!! Caught the ba$tards in the act the first time it was stolen; in Altus, Oklahoma when I was on leave from the Navy. Long awaited props go out to Hammer, Wrench, and Duck. The second time I wasn't so lucky. It was left with a "FRIEND" when I went out to sea. And guess what happened? Yeah It turned up missing, stolen, traded for meth, or just plain gone!!! I know you did it Mike D. and God'll get ya ol' buddy. But that's way in the past.

Back then in San Diego I rode with a social club called the "UMF of America" that has spread out a little in the last 19 years. Had some real good times with them out of the Red Garter, aka "The Gutter" in Ocean Beach. Glad to be back with my head in the wind after so danged long. If any of you Houston area UMFers read this where, do ya'll quaf beer at? I was a patch-holder from OB. I've wound up down Alvin way since '88 and plan on being here a while.

Now for the question: My speedometer seem loose, as in I can wobble it around in the tank dash. Is this normal or am I needing to fix something? My CH didn't have anything cluttering up the looks except the one manditory mirror so I never had to deal with noises so close before.

Glad to be here, Bob

It should not be that loose, IMO. But I dunno what on 94s to do. Be sure to check the tech forums and pose it there if ya get no answer from here.

Hello from OKLAHOMA! Agree with the others, shouldnt be that loose! Pull up your dash and check the backing mount on the speedo---may have backed off--or the speedo housing may have a problem. GOODLUCK
