Hey everybody, just wanted to get some suggestions from some experienced riders. I am 46 years old male, 6'-1" 230 lb and one of those who haven't ridden in almost 30 years. I am set on a softail custom and wanted any pointers, tips, etc. on getting started (slowly) and if you think this is too much to start out with. I will be taking riders edge course at local HD dealer before any street time (probably up and down my own block). Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Classes and lots of practice sounds right to me. They haven't changed much in 30 years. Still hurts when you fall.

Welcome to the forum! You are going to do just fine as long as you follow your plan and practice, practice, practice. The softail is a good choice and taking the Rider's Edge class will give you the confidence you will need to take her out on the roadways. Good luck!
