Restoring a 73 FLH and need reference info

Hi everyone. My name is Al and I joined HD Forums because I'm restoring a 73 FLH and have lots of questions regarding what goes were. I have the original maintenance manual which leaves out a much detail. If there is a place in the forum for guys like me please point me to it.

Welcome Al, where are you from? I know two good shops here in the Toronto area that could really help you with parts, advice and help, but if you are in say...SoCal, that wouldn't help at all.

You said you have the maintenance manual, if you mean the owners manual you are correct that there is very little how-to info in it. A shop manual is what you want. It has the procedures and specs for all most every repair. Also a parts manual is a big help as it has exploded views that show the order of parts in respect to the machine. Enjoy your shovel. I have owned mine for 30 yrs this July.
