Newbie from England
Shipping a bike from US to UK costs about $1,500. Then you have to add VAT, fees, get some sort of road test done on it to obtain a "certificate of conformity". This can add around another $2,000 +. It all takes months and is a hassle. I know lots of people who've done it for vintage Triumphs, but not familar with the HD community (yet!) Im not sure with a modern bike it is worth the money/hassle.
There are lots of HD bargains here for sure. I know some people prefer a low milage used bike since they usually have less Government fees attached to them as opposed to new. Plus they might have less EPA restrictions on them. You pay a premium for a new bike.
I went with a low milage (only 1k miles) FXD and got it for a bargain--seller basically just wanted the pay off amount on the loan.
Good luck mate!
