71 XLCH! That was what MY 71 was. I kept it till 84 when I moved up to a FXEFB shovel that would shake you silly. Chain drive, last shovel, 4 speed, and solid mount. After that, Harley went with a new frame, mount, tranny, engine, the whole 9 yards. My first was a used 63 FLH that was a real POS. The guy that had it rode it to death, didn't put a dime into it, and it was basically junk when I got it. He never garaged it and that's in Ohio no less. The price was right, it was all a dumb high school kid could afford, and it was a Harley. I spent more time fixing it than I did riding it, but I loved it none the less and I thought I was pretty hot stuff when it ran.
