Just joined the forum a few minutes ago. My son moved back home from Okinawa Japan this year and brought a Fat Boy with him. The more I looked at the bike the more I was convinced I had to have one. Bought a 2010 Sportster 48 just because I liked the way it looked. After riding a few months decided I made a mistake and should have started a little bigger but wanted to wait a year to make sure. However, my work is taking me to England for 3 years so I made the leap this week to a 2011 Heritage Softail Classic. Can't wait to pick the new bike up (Sportster is parked until dealer delivers new bike-don't want anything to happen to it).
Had the Ultra out yesterday for its 1st decent hit out in the tight twisty roads to the north of Sydney & was less than impressed with the rear suspension, because of the less than good road quality.
Turns out the air I put in the rear shocks, has a leak somewhere. Put some more air in & a hell of a lot better.
Off to the dealer to get that problem fixed for sure Grrrrrr
But the overall is, the more I ride it, the more I wonder why I haven't made this move earlier
