I went to the Harley shop today and saw a 2006 Street Bob, one of the first six speeds, for a nice price, which looked very appealing to me...
Now what I'm gonna do, go for a Sporty (the XR, that is: great handling, less suitable imo to spend all day on?) or the Dyna (OK handling, but better for putting a lot of miles on? I ride about 10000 per year) Choices, choices..
By the way, did I mention I'm going to Milwaukee next week? (better yet, sponsored by my boss!) Anybody have tips on must-sees?
How popular are Harley's in your country?Welcome to the Forum from Indy! It's a great place to get Harley information!
Well, Harleys are right popular around here, there's also a lot of exclusive Harley-Davidson motorcycle clubs. There's also the animosity between Harley's and just about anything else: Last fall I bought a BMW for winter (to keep the salt off the Harley): all non-Harley people would say something like: "Finally got yourself a REAL bike?" but when I showed up on the monthly meeting of my Harley club on my Beemer in February, everybody looked at me as if I committed blasphemy or something, until I pointed out that I was the only one on this BIKER meeting actually attending on a BIKE . I got everybody silent. Of course, 3 months later there was a BMW meeting I went to... On the Harley, of course!
Just to demonstrate that first and foremost I'm a biker, and then I just like Harley's more than other bikes, but I don't really get involved in this Harley vs. "The Rest" stuff: I respect ALL who ride.

Frans,
Welcome to the forum from Harmelen, the Netherlands. This forum is a great place to be, you'll meet nice people and find tons of good info. If you really want to go for the 2006 Dyna my advise would be:: first check the Dyna Glide Models Section...early 2006 Dyna models seem to suffer from bad Inner Primary Bearing problems. Go here for more info:
That just so happens to be my whereabouts this week (Germantown).
Actually planning (work permitting) to visit the H-D museum in Milwaukee next Wednesday!
