thanks for the warm welcome, everyone. i really appreciate it!
i'll post pics of the bike as we get things done. it looks a little rough right now, some rust pockets here and there so i need to get the frame blasted and squirt some primer.
we've already decided on the final paint. the frame and swing arm will be black w/ some alabaster pearl in it and the tins will have the same, but w/ a coat of sapphire blue pearl over. just enough to give it a " was that black or was that blue?" effect.
hello again, y'all. haven't been around for a while now. life does get in the way, doesn't it? well, looks like the fl is going to become a softail. i found that, due to okla. law, i can't put the fl frame on the road, because the title was stamped JUNK, instead of salvage or rebuildable. enter "plan B". am getting a frame from demon cycles, already set up for a 200 rear tire w/ an oil tank and already primed. that will simplify things considerably. i was looking at a lot more work on th fl frame than i thought originally. i've got the heads and jugs off, and am getting them cleaned up for some new rings and gaskets. my buddy is going to swap trannys w/ me. he has a 5 speed that he replaced w/ a revtech 6. anyway, the frame ought to be in sometime within the next few days. let the games begin!
