Hey Everyone!
I was looking for info, on how to tie down a Electra glide classic or an Ultra for trailering so, the straps wouldn't rub. It seemed like everyone had their own idea but, nothing definitive. So, I went to the Harley Dealer and was told "Never Compress the Shocks" Which went against everything that I knew of tying down a Bike but, they said that compressing the shocks would damage seals. They told me to run the straps around the front Fork Lowers at the point where the fender connects. Pull out and forward and to run a strap through the rear wheel and tie down, just so it doesn't jump.
They want the suspension to work, while it is being trailered!
I tried this and it works great, no rubs no stress on the bike at all but, you have to use a Condor or similar Wheel Chock!
