I'm new to the forum and to Harley motorcycles. Rode for years as a kid.
I'm looking at a 2008 FXSTC. has the following added.
Stage 1 Air filter, computer upgrade and pipes.
Saddle bags and Q/R windshield.
3400 origional miles.
I test drove it last week - WOW!
asking 14K at the local dealer
is this a good deal?
any help appreciated.
Welcome from Michigan, if its at a dealer, its probably overpriced. Then again prices vary by area and the times. Look on Craigslist/Ebay for an idea, not that those are necessarily accurate. Look in the bike trader and see what the going price is there. Check NADA, it shows that 14k is avg retail.
After market add-ons generally dont carry full value.
Welcome from South Florida, If your paying cash in full you can do better, I bought the last two bikes at american classic motors Check the web site, Shop around, I have seen the same bike for way less...Crash
I haven't been able to find anything for less on all the usuals sites. A few but would cost more in the long run to bring them up to the level of this bike.
I really like the styling of the stc or dwg. takes me back to my late teens in the 1970'S. Rode a 650SX with 6" fromt end, KQ seat, bars and shortie pipes.
i think that bike has become somewhat of a cult classic.
that being said a far far cry from a Harley. I'm still looking. the dealer called today and said I can sign and ride everything is ready to go. I told him I needed a bit more time.

You are better off buying a used bike from the owner. My guess is you can do better than that for price.
