Hello, thanks for having a forum such as this. I am sure it requires a lot of work. My sister bought this 74 flh police special in 80. She drove it around the country in all kinds of weather. She was a life style biker. Growing up with her was real cool although some of those dudes were scary! They were all cool to me as I was "Cathy's brother". She became ill and could not drive it for quite a few years. She improved, tried to drive it and on the first try had a serious accident. The bike went into the shed for maybe 5 years before she passed. She gave me her pride and joy just before she left, I told her I would make it beautiful again. I was not ready for the condition of the bike. It did not store well, not to mention the damage caused by a run in with a semi. I owned a shop that restored cars professionally for 15 years so I have excellent fabricating and mechanical skills as well as access to a very good machinist. I lack direct knowledge of harleys so I am happy to have found a forum such as this as I embark on a journey to build my sisters bike into a custom she would be proud of. It will always be her bike. I'm just taking care of it for a while.
