Give it 4 weeks at least. Don't go out on a brand new bike until the sand is cleared off the roads. A friend works for a towing company, and he says all he picks up for the first two weeks of the year are brand new bikes, and most of them within a mile of the dealership.
Who am I kidding... we'll still have snow in April at the rate this winter's been going.
