Default Keeping Baffles Out

Hello,

I am new here so bear with me. I have a 2003 XLC1200 Sportster that I adore. I have Bassani Pro Street Exhaust system and I recently removed my baffles to make it louder. I love the sound and it runs like a dream with an occassional backfire. My question is: Are there any ill effects to my motor or carb by running the bike like this? I have a S&S Carb as well. Should I have torque cones installed? Thanks for any and all input.

HG2018 , Iwould put the power cones in to give you the right amount of back pressure. It will give you more top end power.

WELCOME FROM OKLAHOMA!!!! I ran Bassani's on my wifes old sporster fro over 9k miles with out baffles and had NO problems. Her bike was stock w/ stock carb aside from be putting a #4 washer under the needle in the carb to fattin it up ( Cheap way of fattin out that carb.) Anyway. I have also ran torque cones on other bikes with differant exhaust on them, usually drag pipes they did make a differance on low end torque but htey were twin cam motors I ran them on. Enjoy that sound, its GREAT HUH!!!
