Not really new, had been here for several years on/off, just forgot old p/words...etc and reset all via facebook. Anyway, benn riding since 75, last hd was backed over by some idiot, hence the newer bike I now own. The latest bike was a 2000 flhtc, red-white-blue paint, all the amenities, and a rebuilt engine from the factory program. That motor was replaced at about 128k, not for any other reason than we had an Alaskan 5 week run we had been planning for 2+ years and I did not want to push the original motor over the edge. Over-cautious? maybe, but why ruin a trip on a mill with those miles on it. Anyway, I now have a 2008 Road Glide, and I was wondering about the camshaft tensioners, any suggestions? I have to perform the 50K servive next week, and as long as I have her on the lift, I thought, what the hell? The local dealers act as if its a national secret as to when to replace them,(that tells me they don't know) so any input would help. By the way......I highly recommend the Alaska trip to those who have not been........it was AWESOME!
