Well, it's time for me to learn all I can about Harley Davidson motorcycles, or at least about 2005 Heritage Softail Classics. I'd like to say hello to you all, introduce myself and thank you in advance for the knowledge and advice you will no doubt impart on me. I'm 50 Y.O. and have just purchased a salvage 2005 FLSTCI with 2559 miles on it. I've wrenched on and race dirt bikes for over 30 years so the task of bringing this bike back to life does not intimidate me, but I will certainly need help and I'm not ashamed to ask questions (part of the wisdom of getting old eh?). I won't get into specifics just now as my intention for this post was just to say hello. Great forum guys. "Talk" to you soon.
Welcome to the Forum from the cold and crappy weather in Chicago.
Just build yours like mine. Except for the color. You should have fun working on your (new) bike. I'm interested in doing the same on a salvage bike. Some day when I have the time. Wrench away.
