Stopping, starting, dropping the bike; these are all things new riders worry about. The class you're taking will get you a long way towards being comfortable with those things. If you've never ridden, try to hop a ride on the back with an experienced rider so you get a feel for what being on a bike is like. Just remember two simple things; don't look down and stay off the front brake under 20 mph. The rest is easy.
