I just bought my first bike and I have a lot more questions than answers. So I'm glad to have found this forum. I'm sure I will learn a lot here.
I bought a 96 883 Sporster. I've logged a whole 10 miles so far. It's a blast to ride. I wish I had bought it years a go. It has a couple of small issues like a speedometer that doesn't work and a turn signal bulb that's out, but nothing major and I didn't pay much for it. I know it's pretty small, but all I plan to do with it is little short trips to visit friends, or run to the store.
It came with what I assume to be an aftermarket tank, forward controls, and other goodies and it runs great.
I'd like to learn to do as many of these repairs as I can myself. I have a big box full of tools. I've never worked on a motorcycle before, but I have done stuff like rebuild engines, swap out rear ends, brake jobs, etc in cars for several years.
