Welcome iron man, I have a son living in Manchester and we toured your country last year, a nice place but the weather was crap. I go touring around Oz on my softail standard and tie all my stuff on with the old fashioned ocy straps. All soft stuff goes on the handlebars wrapped in plastic and everything else on the rear fender in an old bag on top of a towel to stop scratching. I also place duct tape on the fenders and indicators where the ocy strap hooks hook on.
