Tony,
I was there back in August. I was there a few years ago also. The museum was shipped back to Milwaukee back in 2003 for the centennial celebration, I believe, so that is no longer in York. They do have a display in the store/waiting area but it’s not like the museum was. Also, if you are planning to go, call ahead to see if the assembly line is running. There are periods when it is shut down while they change the models they are producing. When I was last there it was not running so we did not see a lot of the tour. I would have to say it wasn’t really worth the trip then.
went to the york plant in april 06. have been in lots of different assembly plants and that is what it is. although i am not sure what i expected. we saw some assembly, some polishing, some parts, some people. if you expect to go and see all of the nuts and bolts and every gasket in between put together it will not meet your expectations. that being said it is one of those things that you have to do because it has to be done. my suggestion is contact the plant and go during some special event where thay may have more areas and opportunities for viewing available. no museum but new models in a show room retail area. i also hear the cvo plant is worth a return trip when it is available to the public
