Welcome to the forum. From what you have said on your post, I would guess don't have any riding experence. Regardless of whether you’re a new rider or you’re someone with decades behind them, there is always something new to learn. There is a massive amount of information available on this forum. If there is something you are looking for just ask, there are many people here that willingly share their knowledge and experience.

Since you have identified yourself as a new rider, I feel the need to throw my 2cents in. Take it for what it’s worth. The first thing you should do is look for a Rider Safety course. It will cover the basic skills you need to safely ride your Sportster. While most riders I’ve met feel the first thing to do is change out the exhaust to get that special sound, I see this as a mistake. To me safety is far more important. I won’t ride a bike without an air horn. Last year alone, I’ve used the horn to stop cages from coming into my lane. Also converting the rear blinkers into brake/run/turn lights will make you more visible from the rear. Both of these can be done for under $100 and 30 minutes work.

I just did some quick checks and I think I may check them out as well. You just made my search a little harder haha

I'm from Somerset. I'm fairly solid on the few models, years don't really bother me. (unless there are certain ones i should be weary of)

Thanks! Motorcycles, yes i would be new to. I've ridden dirtbikes and quads before, while not the same thing, i have a general ball park idea. I'm still trying to sell my Camaro so thats the first step. i will take one of the road courses, i heard its a lot smoother than going through the DMV.

Thanks i will look into those mods, I know my way around a toolbox so it should be something fun to do (Telling my parents about the bike wont be as much fun)
