Tire pressure, riding style and weight (yours and passenger) are all big contributors to tire wear. Tire pressure is the easiest to address. Burnouts, hard acceleration also is in your control. Weight is too (lose some, dude!), I suppose. And how heavy your passenger is (and how often she rides with you) is also in your control.
Your tire brand will make a difference, and you should consider that in your choice, but do your part too.
