n00b from up North.
Hey all.
I've been lurking on this board for some time now and decided to register and finally introduce myself.
First time HD owner. Although I owned another bike briefly before this one, this is truly my first real bike. I'm a fairly rookie rider as well.
About me: Military (no further detail than that). Married with two young 'uns. My alias alludes to my ethinicity and for those that know will recognize the name as one of the most prolific villains in Bollywood.
Quick story on the bike: My Missus was dead set against me getting a bike (although she's from India, where bikes are a primary mode of transport, when she got to Canada and saw how wide open and fast it was, absolutely balked at the idea of me getting a bike). She surprised me when I got home from Afghanistan last July by buying me a C50. Now, since I'm only about 3 apples tall (5'5"), the bike was a little big and I also found it a little slow. I've always liked the HD Sporties and when I saw the Iron, I fell in love. Never been into sportbikes much, so wasn't going to go that route, either.
There it is. I've only had the Iron for about a week and I'm in love. With my minimal riding experience (been licensed since last November), this bike instils confidence and it just plain out looks good.
From what I read so far on this forum, the crew seems to be great and very helpful. My intent is to eventually be able to wrench my bike and I'm hoping to start customizing Her to make Her truly mine.
Looking forward to getting to know everyone and to capitalize on the wealth of knowledge that is here.
